October: Apple, Spices and Cocoa

Welcome to October!

We have fallen fully into the cool embrace of autumn. Leaves are changing colors, the wind has turned crisp in most places, and this month, we get to turn to the joyful coziness of spooky season.

To honor this, this month’s featured blends are associated with the darker half of the Wheel of the Year and with the fun of Halloween! Apples are now in season and have long been associated with autumn and with Halloween, so it seemed only right to feature such a delicious fruit this month. Cinnamon and cardamom are also beloved spices associated with fall, and the bittersweet depth of cocoa always reminds me of Samhain season, so it seemed right to star these cozy ingredients.

Don’t forget the monthly featured blends are 25% off for the entire month of October AND there will be a 30% off Samhain sale for all blends from October 26th through November 2nd! Lots of fun deals coming up! Check back in the shop on the 26th to stock up on your other favorites. 🙂

Here are the 3 featured blends for this month:

Morgan le Fay

An invigorating cup of bold Assam blended with dried apple pieces to honor the apples of Avalon, subtle blackberry leaves and a warm touch of cinnamon. This powerful sorceress’ tea is perfect for a chilly autumn day, or while brewing your spells in the woods of Britain. One of the shop’s long-time bestsellers. ❤ It can also be made decaf! Just shoot me a message.

Anubis

A smooth blend of delectable darkness. Cocoa is featured in this blend for Anubis, the Egyptian god of death and figure of protection for the dead. (Appropriate for Samhain, right?) Today, he is reached out to by many for assistance in connection with lost loved ones, comfort in times of loss, assistance with inner shadow work, finding “death” in the release of energy that no longer serves us, and overall protection. His blend has a smooth, slightly woody base of rare Darjeeling black tea with dark swirls of cardamom and a hint of one of his favorite offerings, cocoa. It has a flavor profile that’s deep, dark and soothing. A lovely blend for welcoming the death of whatever is holding you back from your own wonderful potential. One of my personal favorite blends in the shop. Delicious with steamed milk or plain. (Again, if you want it decaf for an evening tea, let me know and I’ll happily swap out the Darjeeling base for a decaf black tea!)

Darkmoor Brew

A dark, haunting blend to beckon you to the shadowy depths of the world. This blend is inspired by “Dark Universe” at Orlando’s newest Universal theme park, Epic Universe. Rich black tea pairs with notes of apple picked from a forbidden forest, subtle hints of raspberry leaves, notes of deep blackcurrant and organic cocoa. Tastes forbidden. A deliciously sinful cup, perfect for nights of horror, monster hunts, spooky haunts or simply a day alone as you perfect your latest evil experiment. (It can also be made decaf.) Also if you’re a local in Orlando, put this in a thermos or make it iced and bring it with you to Dark Universe, Halloween Horror Nights, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, or any other fun Halloween theme park events! My mom and I are going to HHN on Sunday and we’ll both be sipping on this throughout the day to caffeinate and prepare ourselves!

Have a wonderful October, friends! Enjoy the chill in the air, embrace the shadows, treasure the magic and remember to take time for a cup of tea. ❤

October Blessings,

L.J.
